Tips for Beautiful Wedding Morning Photographs

THINK ABOUT THE SPACE & LIGHT

Choose the spacious room with most natural light for your photos.  Move the furniture away to free up space in front of the widows. Try to keep the room not cluttered so that we can capture clean beautiful images without any mess in the background.

HAVE ALL YOUR DETAILS IN ONE PLACE

Lay out your personal items - jewellery, shoes, perfume, stationary, flowers and of course your dress ready to be photographed.  Perhaps ask your florist to leave few loose flowers and petals to be added to the flatlay photo.   I usually style and photograph details first and I can do it much quicker if I don’t have to ask anyone for them.

CONSIDER YOUR GETTING READY OUTFIT

What are you are going to wear matters because these photographs will be included in your album.  Lovely silk robe in light colour is always a classic and elegant choice.  It looks flattering in photos and makes you feel special.

Don’t forget about your bridesmaid’s outfits if you are getting ready together!

OUTLINE THE GETTING READY TIMELINE:

Best time for your personal photos is when you feel ready and beautiful. I love taking bridal photos when your hair and makeup are done but before you put on your dress, shoes and jewellery.  Ask your bridesmaids to put their dresses on first so that when they are helping you into yours, they are all dressed in photos

Do leave enough time in the morning for pictures with your bridesmaids, your parents and for some individual portraits.  I like to dedicate more time to photographing my brides (no offence to the grooms though!) and recommend being ready about half hour before you are planning to leave.

Whatever you do, make sure to relax and enjoy your morning with a glass of champaign!
